Why do you need to create an account?

There are several reasons to create an account, and while addresses and phone numbers are part of the registration process I will NOT contact you by snail mail or phone for promotional reasons. Since I don't use the records, I don't care if your phone or addy information is accurate, however, your email must be accurate.

You have an account so that you can log in to:

1. download your images (downloads are allowed up to 3 times per purchase)
2. make a wish list
3. buy gift certificates
4. subscribe to the newsletter

ADVICE FOR HANDLING YOUR DIGIS:

What are Zip Files?

My digis generally come as a zipped file and provide both JPG and PNG files at 300 dpi. To be able to use your files you need to save the file in your computer. Right click the zipped file and choose ‘extract’ or ‘extract all.'. Once you have extracted all the files you will be able to use rather than just view the files. Remember to save your new digi in a folder so you can find them next time. Might I suggest a file named TIDDLY INKS? :)

If you do not have a zip reader installed on your computer, you may download one for free on the Internet.

What type of software do I need?

You do not need an expensive photoshop or paintshop software to use digis. You can open and resize them in Word using the INSERT function. They can be resized  (use the FORMAT PICTURE tool) and then printed (see advice on paper and printers below).

Do you have recommendations on paper or printers?

The best advice comes from experienced crafters and card makers like yourself. One of the most amazing colorists out there (Forgotten Scraps) created a very detailed set of tutorials on what papers work the best:

I also took some quotes from helpful crafters and you can see that there is a wide variety of options and there is probably no right or wrong way to print or use a digi....unless the ink runs and you can heat set most inks with a heat gun. The best paper I have for my digi’s is actually 300GSM smooth card. Its awesome. Though I have a back feed printer, I know card this thick does not work for people who have front loading printers where it has to go over the rollers. - LOU

I have a Lexmark X4650, I love it. They have an ink program where you earn a free ink cartridge for every 5 that you buy, and another for every 5 empty ones that you return. The paper I normally use is Stampin' Up! whisper white - I never have problems with smearing, either. :) -Jenn

I always use a heavy-weight paper. I love PaperTrey Ink's. I use that for most of my digi's. I have an old HP printer. I always let my images sit for about 2 days or it smears. I also hit it with a heat gun.--Dawn

I'm in the UK and I use Rymans coated white card, and it's great. Got a Epson SX105. I edit things and make sentiments in Serif PagePlus 9. - Jo

I have an HP B8550 printer. I use Georgia Pacific cardstock that you can generally pick up anywhere. The most important thing I do is print the images in DRAFT quality. It lays down less ink which makes it less of a chance to bleed. I never have a problem when I color with my copics on your images. - Nei-Jennie

I use the draft setting on my hp- won't smear and I use the copic xpress paper. - Misty

I have an HP 6100 printer and I use Georgia-Pacific 110-lb cardstock. When I first started with digis, I had to use trial and error to get the ink from smearing. The best thing I found is to use photo ink in the printer. I don't have to let it dry for 2 days...or spray it down with 3M Fixativ or use a heat gun. - Cleota

I have a Kodak all in one printer and have used a paper from CTMH, GP, Wasau, and Nina and I have never had a problem with the ink smearing. I colour with Copic markers.--Norma

I have an Epson Stylus C59,and it's great with copics (though does bleed a bit if you soak with colourless blender. Go figure).--Dawn

I have an Epson Workforce 1100 and love it. I am still experimenting with paper but like the Cryogenic White, Neenah White and Gina K Pure Luxury. I have Stamping Bella's paper but haven't tried it yet. - Cindi

I have a Kodak and use Office Max 110 lb. White index - no problem with smearing or Copic pens bleeding. I have now switched to Bazzill Simply Smooth White. I like both, but the Bazzil has a slicker texture and just looks nicer. I also use Bic, Sharpie, Stampin up and Copic Markders. Prismacolor pencils with Gamsol make great cards. Water color pencils are also fun to use. You can print & color right away. - Elizabeth
